Indie rhythm game

Muse Dash is a premium action-packed, side-scrolling rhythm game developed by PeroPeroGames. In it, players will control a character and attack incoming obstacles by moving to the song. It features various popular songs with different music styles that match the scenes, enemies, and bosses.

Furthermore, Muse Dash offers simple gameplay and makes use of a simple control scheme. With this, you can focus on your movements. However, most of the music is in Japanese and is left untranslated. The interface supports English, Korean, and Simplified and Traditional Chinese, though, so non-Japanese players aren’t left entirely clueless.

How do you play Muse Dash?

Playing the game is easy. In each stage, there are incoming obstacles that you need to evade and attack. The catch, however, is that you need to do so while matching the rhythm of the song. Don’t worry, though, since the controls of the game are simple. There are only two buttons — the D-pad button and the X-button. Each of these buttons corresponds to the color and position of the enemy.

There are three characters that you can play in the game, and each has health bars. Avoid colliding with an enemy to prevent sustaining any damage. Doing so will deplete your health bar and will end your game. On top of your health bar, you will also have a combo counter that will fill up with sequential hits. Make sure to create as many combos as possible. The more combos you achieve, the more points you get.

On the other hand, Muse Dash is like any other rhythm game in the sense it does not have a story that you need to follow. Instead, it focuses solely on gameplay. Despite this, though, the game does a good job of characterizing its three main heroes and presenting a vibrant and intriguing backdrop. There are no non-Japanese songs available, however.

Rin·Len’s Mirrorland DLC

The version 4.0.0 of the Muse Dash x Hatsune Miku collaboration project comes in the form of the Rin·Len’s Mirrorland DLC, which is available for a limited period of time. The DLC comes fully packed with ten new songs, one new character, one title screen graphic, and four illustrations. Meanwhile, bonus illustrations can be obtained when the player logs in during the event duration.

Simple yet exceptional

Despite its simplicity, Muse Dash is an exceptional music game. The game offers tons of catchy songs and features eye-catching artwork. Moreover, it has enough quality content to keep you busy playing for a long time. Some players may be put off by the lack of English songs and the scantily clad outfits, but these are not enough to deter you from having a good time playing the game.
